About this Workshop

This workshop presents Notice, Care, Do, a systematic framework for teaching social skills as one unified process rather than a collection of isolated skills. Learning Outcomes

After taking this workshop, participants will be able to…

  • List all the components of a social skills evaluation and the ways to collect the information needed to assess a child’s social functioning.
  • Describe the Notice, Care, Do framework by defining each area and understanding that it functions as a fluid, recalculating system rather than a fixed sequence.
  • Explain how an identity shift differs from a behavior goal, and how to respond to a client who insists they don’t want or need friends.
  • Differentiate between a weak observer and a weak processor, and identify the correct therapy entry point for the ADHD, ASD/rigid, and self-centered profiles.
  • Apply the Scenario Chain by moving a client through their own experience, the other person’s perspective, and then alternative actions.
  • Assess when a client is ready to be pushed versus when awareness needs to percolate, and measure progress through effort level, scenario quality, and independence in generating alternatives.
