About this Course
This course gives a foundational understanding of how to break down the critical thinking skills into 5 domains: Main Idea, Inferencing, Cause/Effect, Predicting and Problem Solving. Participants will be able to properly evaluate and then create very specific goals and therapy activities to address each domain using the client-directed model and hierarchy of proper cueing to bring about effective change in their clients' overall critical thinking abilities.

Learning Outcomes
After taking this workshop, participants will be able to…
- List all the components of an evaluation and the ways to collect the information necessary to perform an evaluation of critical thinking skills.
- Define the 5 domains of critical thinking skills by defining and understanding the differences in: main idea, inferencing, cause/effect, predicting, and problem solving.
- Summarize what it means for a client to be a lateral/divergent thinker who has a hard time pinpointing the main idea or an extreme linear thinker who is more literal and exhibits black/white thinking.
- Apply their knowledge of proper cueing to elicit exact inferences from their clients when doing therapy using single photo cards.
- Explain how to follow the clients lead and train of thought to help build logical thinking with clear proofs, inferences and higher-level thinking.
- Assess and measure the carryover of the skills in their sessions by having the clients figure out different problems and assessing if they are using logical problem-solving skills.
